“Relay Day” at Eastern’s Child and Family Development Resource Center (CFDRC) gives children an opportunity to design different activities and try a variety of physical challenges.Themed days at the CFDRC are fun for children, their families, and staff. But they also help strengthen relationships. Relay Day is an example of a theme day which brings together the entire center as they cheer each other on, and learn from their experiences.
In this video, teachers Emily Grogan and Kaitlin Thibodeau describe how each of the stations in the 2018 event helped children practice cooperation, self-regulation, turn-taking, and task persistence – all while having fun outside.
